Does anyone know how to remove Privacy Center? I don't even know how I got it but its a program that loads as soon as I start Windows Vista. It runs and says my computer is infected with 100's of viruses. I can't do anything because the desktop never loads. My taskbar and all desktop icons are gone I just have a black screen and that Privacy Center.

Please help me remove this thing I don't want to have to restore my computer if I don't have to.

Thanks

Privacy Center is a new twist on other rouge anti-virus scareware like XP Anti-virus 2009, Personal Anti-Virus, Antivirus 2009 and many others. This new and improved version terminates the explorer.exe process which is why your desktop never loads.

After you start your computer and you see that Privacy Center program scanning, use ctrl+alt+del to access the Windows taskmanager. End task on pc.exe, agent.exe and or pc10.exe.
Then Select File --> New Task (run) and type explorer.exe. This will restart explorer and allow your desktop to load.

Once your desktop loads use your anti-virus and anti-spyware tools to remove the program and its associated files.

Empty all temp and temporary internet files since most of these rouge anti-virus programs have hooks to other files that could be missed by your scanners.

Hope this helps.
